Mechanical Testing Laboratory

The Mechanical Testing Laboratory performs all physical and mechanical property testing on outgoing finished products from all of the Washington Penn Plastic manufacturing sites. In addition to final inspection and testing, the Mechanical Testing Laboratory also performs physical and mechanical property testing to support the development of new products, as well as incoming testing on all raw materials. The Mechanical Testing Laboratory operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide responsive turnaround times for all customers, internal and external, and to accommodate flexible product shipping schedules.

The Mechanical Testing Laboratory is equipped to handle the preparation of all testing specimens from injection molded test bars to die cut parts from compression molded plaques or extruded strips. In order to handle the large volume of molding performed everyday, the laboratory is equipped with small modular, single or dual-cavity ‘world’ mold inserts for use with a ‘quick connect’ frame system. In a typical day, the Laboratory performs over 250 mold changes.
