Mixed Mineral Systems

At times, applications dictate that two or more fillers are needed. Generally, this is done to either gain some benefit from both fillers, or to counter a potentially negative effect of one component. A common example is a mixture of glass fiber and mica. The orientation of glass fibers in a molded article can cause warpage in larger parts, and the addition of mica, which is a platy mineral, can help to mitigate that effect.
