Audia Plastics s.r.o. inaugurates new compounding production site in Voderady ( Slovakia)

Voderady (Slovakia) March 2012 – Washington Penn Plastic Co.,(WPP) officially inaugurated its first European plant, Audia Plastics s.r.o. in Voderady, Slovakia. Washington Penn Plastic Co. is a leading supplier of compounded Polyolefin materials and models its business around tailoring both products and services to customer needs. The expansion into Europe is intended to be an extrapolation of their success in North American, with the intent of being able to match manufacturing footprints with global customers.

The operation in Voderady, is capable of providing mineral filled polypropylene, glass reinforced polypropylene , and TPO compounds. As is the case in North America, WPP expects to focus its business on five core markets: Automotive, Appliance, Building & Construction, Consumer Products and Packaging. In addition to compound manufacturing, the facility houses both a development line and a full scale laboratory to test and certify materials.

The facility in Slovakia is WPP’s second new plant opening in the last four years and is consistent with focus on global growth. WPP also operates four plants in the U.S. and one in Monterrey Mexico.

WPP Material running in Mucell Process at Trexel’s booth at NPE Show

Washington Penn Plastic Co. the leading supplier of mineral and glass re-enforced polypropylene compounds will be supplying material to run in Trexel’s booth. Trexel will be producing a tackle box molded with MuCell technology using WPP’s PPH5CF2 material. Parts molded using MuCell’s technology demonstrate weight savings, easier fill properties, reduced clamp tonnage requirements, reduced warpage, and greater design freedom to use varying wall thickness and rib structures that do not show sink marks.

WPP Material running at Krauss-Maffei booth at NPE Show

Washington Penn Plastic Co. the leading supplier of compounded polypropylene and polyethylene compounds in North America will be supplying material for two exhibits at Krauss-Maffei’s booth at the NPE Show in Orlando, FL the first week of April. Krauss-Maffei’s KM650-4300MX will be running a high performance, pre-colored WPP polypropylene compound in a 48 cavity closure application. On a smaller KM100-180AX a WPP pre-colored HDPE will be running a smaller closure.
