Washington Penn Plastic Company, Inc. is the leading provider of compounded polypropylene and polyethylene products. Our business model focuses on tailoring polypropylene and polyethylene based products to our customer’s application requirements rather than selling from a list of stock products. WPP has demonstrated numerous successes replacing high cost engineering resins with lower cost materials by expanding the properties & capabilities of polyolefin compounds. Our resulting product categories are summarized as follows:
- Mineral Filled (talc, calcium carbonate, mica, etc.)
- Glass Fiber re-enforced materials
- Flame Retardant Materials
- TPOs and Soft Touch TPE materials
- Color Concentrate
With these 5 product classes we have grown to serve a number of market segments including Automotive (under the hood, exterior and interior), Building & Construction, Appliance, Packaging and Disposable Products, Lawn & Garden, Pool & Spa, Electronics, and Medical. By servicing such a diverse market we have gained specific subject matter expertise in maximizing the stiffness – impact strength balance, UV stable products, Heat Stable products that meet UL certifications, Color technology to provide a wide range of color matched compounds or concentrates.
We are a privately owned company with it’s origins in North America that has grown to provide global reach. WPP operates 4 manufacturing facilities in the United States and one in Mexico that combined has an annual capacity to produce over 700 million pounds. Our sixth compounding plant is planned to begin operations in Eastern Europe by 2011 to better serve our European customers. Each of our manufacturing facilities is managed with a world class safety program and is focused on delivering quality with each shipment.
